About The Position

As a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer at Bask, you will work directly with the CEO and CTO to build and design software infrastructure that serves as the backbone of telehealth. The role includes helping lead frontend migrations, performance work, and production AI builds. Bask is seeking entrepreneurial software engineers who take end-to-end ownership and care about improving healthcare delivery. Success means shipping production code in customer environments, enabling customer teams to extend it independently, and building broader partnerships with each account. Bask’s serverless platform is a multi-tenant monorepo using Next.js and React on the frontend, tRPC and Prisma on the backend, SST for deployment, and TypeScript throughout. Engineering is AI-first and builder-led: engineers use tools such as Claude and Cursor to investigate problems, plan and build solutions, test on staging with realistic data, release to production, and validate with patients and care teams. AI is a default part of the workflow, with engineers applying their own judgment to meet healthcare’s quality demands. The role calls for a collaborative, full-stack generalist who has taken a product from 0 to 1 and can bring that instinct to a system already serving real patients. The engineer will own key product surfaces and projects end to end, work across the stack without team handoffs, prototype and validate with real users, build reusable systems, and help make AI and automation transparent and trustworthy. They will also champion performance, accessibility, and reliability and share effective AI-native workflows with the team.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience.
  • Full-stack generalist experience, including taking a product from 0 to 1.
  • Strong frontend skills, including React, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind, and JavaScript.
  • Backend skills, including tRPC, Drizzle ORM, SQL, Node, and SST.
  • Ability to work independently and own entire projects or large areas of a codebase.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical problems, constraints, and timelines.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to roll up sleeves.
  • Interest in a mission focused on changing how healthcare is delivered.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience building paid products and services.
  • React Native or Expo experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship high-quality product experiences, owning key surfaces from concept through production.
  • Write elegant, well-tested code and help maintain the test suite.
  • Work across the stack, following features from the interface through the API to the database.
  • Use AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to investigate, plan, scaffold, implement, and refactor software, applying engineering judgment to maintain quality.
  • Prototype quickly and validate work with real patients and care teams, refining solutions based on what is learned.
  • Translate product needs into reusable, well-architected patterns that support scale and make future features faster to ship.
  • Build systems that clearly communicate what AI and automation are doing for patients and providers, emphasizing transparency, reliability, and thoughtful defaults.
  • Champion performance, accessibility, and reliability; collaborate to debug and optimize the product.
  • Document effective prompts, patterns, and AI workflows so the team can work faster without compromising patient outcomes.
  • Work directly with the CEO and CTO on software infrastructure, frontend migrations, performance work, and production AI builds.
  • Own entire projects or large areas of the codebase and build partnerships with customer accounts.
