Forward Deployed Engineer
About The Position
Syntiant Corp. is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer to integrate and deploy Syntiant software on new platforms at customer sites. The role works directly with customers, uses target hardware hands-on, troubleshoots deployment issues, and helps achieve successful technical outcomes for projects in Syntiant’s federal business. The position requires travel to customer sites, including test ranges and military installations, for periods of up to two weeks at a time. Syntiant delivers hardware and software solutions for edge AI deployment. Its products support speech, audio, sensor, and vision applications across consumer and industrial use cases. The targeted starting base salary for this role is $195,000–$225,000. Individual compensation depends on factors including experience, skills, work location, schedule, and peer salaries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong C++ and Python experience.
- Experience working in large, complex codebases.
- Experience with Embedded Linux.
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
- Ability to work quickly and independently in fast-paced, ambiguous field environments.
- Comfort working with customers and end-users, including non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship and an existing security clearance or ability to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with machine-learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Computer vision or audio experience.
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicles.
