About The Position

As Reducto’s founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with customers to deploy and tune Reducto’s systems in real-world environments, bridging the core product and the complex needs of enterprise customers. You will participate throughout pre- and post-sales engagements, helping prospects move from trial to contract and supporting customer expansion. The role includes building prototypes and demo applications, customizing existing products, and using customer insights to shape Reducto’s product direction. You will work closely with the founders, customers, Sales, Customer Success, product, and engineering teams. This is an in-person role at Reducto’s San Francisco office at an early-stage company where working hard and moving quickly are expected. Reducto provides an agentic document platform for AI teams, combining in-house and frontier models to support document workflows. Its technology breaks document layouts into subsections and contextually parses content using vision models, LLMs, and heuristics. The platform supports accurate text and table extraction, graph-to-table conversion, image summaries, extraction from complex forms, retrieval pipelines using document metadata, and layout-aware information chunking.

Requirements

3 to 6 years of experience deploying software in production settings, ideally with enterprise or regulated customers.
Excellent Python skills and the ability to navigate Bash and infrastructure as needed.
High standards for quality, strong agency, and a willingness to take ownership and fix problems.
Ability to ship quickly and work hands-on across the full development lifecycle, from ideation through deployment to users.
A quantitative approach to product development, with the ability to debug, experiment, and iterate quickly.
Willingness to work in person at the San Francisco office and to work hard and move quickly in an early-stage company.

Responsibilities

Build what is needed to drive customer value, including evaluation applications, customized agents, and modifications to existing product surfaces.
Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Success to land prospects and enable customers.
Build close relationships with customers and understand key stakeholders, particularly technical stakeholders.
Create diagnostics, dashboards, and evaluation harnesses to measure performance and track regressions across environments.
Share customer insights with product and engineering teams, surfacing usability gaps, unmet needs, and opportunities to deepen customer value.
Work directly with the founders and customers to shape product direction and engineering strategy.
Deploy and tune Reducto’s systems in customer environments.
Build prototype and demo applications, customize products, and support customers through pre- and post-sales engagements.
