About The Position

Capital markets are undergoing a fundamental shift. Assets that live in fragmented systems and manual workflows are moving onto blockchains - systems designed to move and store value more transparently and efficiently. While this unlocks more open and programmable financial systems, it also introduces significant complexity. For most users, interacting with this new infrastructure is still too difficult. Fun builds the infrastructure that powers consumer-facing fintech applications - handling onboarding, account access, and money movement so users can interact with blockchain-based systems as seamlessly as they do with traditional finance. For fintech builders, Fun provides a best-in-class onboarding and deposit stack that drives conversion and unlocks user growth. We operate at the intersection of financial infrastructure, complex engineering, and product experience. On the new Forward Deployed Engineering team, you’ll work directly with our most strategic customers to ensure they get the maximum value out of Fun’s platform. You will own discovery, technical scoping, execution, and rollout of functionality that extends Fun’s capabilities — working closely with our Product & Customer Success teams. This is a new role and team at Fun; we’re looking for people with high agency, who are excited about shaping the direction of their work + the team. Product engineers, engineers who have led customer implementations, and technical founders could all be a fit.

Requirements

5+yrs of experience building and shipping full-stack production software in high ownership environments.
Strong proficiency in at least one of: TypeScript, Go, Python, or a similar language.
Experience working directly with high-value customers, from pre-sales discovery through production rollout.
Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, bridging technical systems, teams, business objectives.
The ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at every level, from engineers to executives.
Experience working with LLMs, to build high-availability systems and scale processes.

Nice To Haves

Experience with React Native, payments, or blockchain integrations is helpful but not strictly required.

Responsibilities

Architect and deliver best-in-class onramp & checkout experiences for our strategic customers.
Work closely with our Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to scope, design, and build solutions that scale across our customer base.
Lead technical discovery with prospective and existing customers.
Partner with our business team on evaluations, demos, and prototypes to close deals, engage customers, and make Fun a stickier product over time.
Set the standard of our new Forward Deployed Engineering team, contribute to scaling our products and processes.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and prioritize our roadmap.
