About The Position
BCG X is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer intern to help build and deploy AI solutions with client teams across industries and BCG regions. The role contributes across the analytics and software development lifecycle, from framing business challenges and designing algorithms to implementing and deploying scalable solutions. Work may include topics such as climate change, developing software products, and enabling organizations to adopt AI. The role may also involve producing thought leadership and scientific papers and leading conferences on behalf of BCG X. The internship is evaluative, and interns may have the opportunity to receive full-time offers. The program uses an office-hub model, and interns must live within reasonable commuting distance of their home office and attend the office as directed. Work often requires travel to client sites and may at times involve extended hours. The position is open to students pursuing a full-time master's degree or PhD who are expected to graduate between December 2027 and August 2028. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a full-time master's degree or PhD.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Passion for software development, large-scale data analytics, and transforming organizations into AI-led companies.
- Experience with Python.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and interact directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust, maintainable software.
- Participate in every part of the software development life cycle.
- Guide non-technical teams and consultants in robust software development practices.
- Optimize the computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
- Work directly with clients on new features for future product releases.
- Collaborate with teams to share software design and solution ideas.
- Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and papers.
- Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
