About The Position

As an AI Experience Designer at BCG X, you will work as a product designer owning meaningful portions of complex, enterprise-scale digital experiences across the product lifecycle, from early problem framing through high-fidelity execution and delivery. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including strategy consultants, AI Product Managers, Forward Deployed AI Engineers, and Forward Deployed AI Scientists—to create usable, elegant, and scalable solutions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and measurable business impact. The role is execution-focused and calls for strong design craft, structured thinking, and comfort in high-expectation environments, with increasing exposure to stakeholder alignment, decision-making, and product strategy. You will own end-to-end design workstreams, conduct research, translate ambiguous challenges into user flows and polished interfaces, and contribute to coherent design systems. You will use Figma and AI-native or AI-assisted tools to explore and prototype solutions responsibly, and communicate design decisions through clear documentation and client-ready materials. At Associate level, the role calls for ownership of defined workstreams with minimal supervision, accountability for quality and timelines, coachability, and rapid growth. The role is associated with the New York or Pittsburgh office. Employees must live within reasonable commuting distance of their home office and attend the office as directed. Client work often requires travel, with an expectation of 50% travel. Extended working hours may be required at times. The first-year base compensation range is $122,400 to $136,000.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of professional experience designing digital products at scale in product, UX, or experience design roles.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, high-quality visual craft and attention to detail, structured problem framing and systems thinking, and shipped or production-level work.
  • Advanced experience with AI-native and AI-enabled research, design, and collaboration tools, such as ChatGPT, Lovable, Figma AI, or Replit.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component-based design systems, auto layout, variables, prototyping logic, and developer collaboration workflows such as Dev Mode and structured handoff.
  • Understanding of human-centered design principles and usability best practices.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG fundamentals.
  • Understanding of responsive, multi-platform, and cross-device design.
  • Understanding of product, technical, and business constraints in real-world environments.
  • Ability to connect design decisions and rationale to user outcomes, and articulate trade-offs and measurable business impact in structured discussions.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional product teams.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, client-ready documentation.
  • Ability to travel frequently based on client and project needs; the posting states a 50% travel expectation.
  • Degree programs, including part-time programs, must be completed before starting at BCG.
