About The Position

The Forklift Operator moves pallets and other materials through different warehouse areas to support production requirements and loads and unloads customer trailers. Depending on the location, the role may also involve sorting pallets by hand and repairing damaged wooden pallets by hand. This position is vital to the success of the Relogistics site.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including exposure to elements, heat, cold, and airborne particulates.
• Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for shifts of varying lengths.
• Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, and color vision.
• May be required to lift pallets by hand weighing between 50 and 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification preferred.
• One to three years of forklift experience preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment.
• Operate forklifts with extreme care and follow company safety procedures at all times.
• Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Load and unload customer trailers.
