Forklift Operator - Pallet Services
About The Position
As a Forklift Operator at Relogistics, you will move pallets and other materials through warehouse areas to support production requirements and load and unload customer trailers. Depending on the location and requirements, you may also sort wooden pallets by hand and repair damaged pallets. The role is vital to the success of the Relogistics site. The position is located in Statesboro, Georgia, and pays $18.00 per hour. The listed schedules are Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m., and Friday–Sunday, 5:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. Overtime may be needed. The work may involve exposure to heat, cold, weather elements, and airborne particulates. Employees repetitively bend, stoop, walk, turn, and pivot, and may sit in a forklift for shifts of varying lengths. Noise levels depend on the location. Required PPE includes eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. The job requires close, distance, and color vision, and may require hand-lifting pallets weighing 50–75 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to meet the described physical and vision demands of the role and use required PPE.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift certification preferred.
- One to three years of forklift experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment.
- Operate forklifts carefully and follow company safety procedures at all times.
- Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
- Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Load and unload customer trailers.
