Forklift Operator - Pallet Services
About The Position
As a Forklift Operator at Relogistics, you will move pallets and other materials through warehouse areas to support production and load and unload customer trailers. Depending on site needs, you may also hand-sort pallets and repair damaged wooden pallets. The role supports the success of the Relogistics site and requires safe forklift operation, maintaining a clean work area, and working in a labor-intensive environment. The listed hourly pay range is $19.50–$20.50. The position is at 4554 Oscar Nelson Jr Dr, Baytown, TX 77523, with either a Monday–Thursday or Thursday–Sunday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The work may involve exposure to heat, cold, weather elements, and airborne particulates. Employees repetitively bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for shifts of varying lengths. Noise levels vary by location. Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. The job requires close, distance, and color vision and may require manually lifting pallets weighing 50–75 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to meet the described physical and work-environment demands, including potentially lifting pallets weighing 50–75 pounds.
- Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift certification preferred.
- One to three years of forklift experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using company forklift equipment.
- Operate forklifts with care and follow company safety procedures.
- Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
- Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Move materials through warehouse areas to support production requirements and load and unload customer trailers.
