Forklift Operator - Pallet Services
About The Position
The Forklift Operator moves pallets and other materials through warehouse areas to support production requirements and loads and unloads customer trailers. Depending on the site’s needs, the role may also include sorting pallets by hand and repairing damaged wooden pallets by hand. Operators use forklifts to move sorted pallet stacks to staging areas and must follow company safety procedures. The work takes place in a labor-intensive warehouse environment and may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions, heat, cold, and airborne particulates. The position is located in North Canton, Ohio, and offers first- and second-shift schedules, Tuesday through Friday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability and willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift certification preferred.
- One to three years of forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using company forklift equipment.
- Operate forklifts carefully and follow company safety procedures at all times.
- Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
- Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Load and unload customer trailers.
- Support production requirements in warehouse areas.
