Forklift Operator - Pallet Services
About The Position
As a Forklift Operator at Relogistics, you will move pallets and other materials through warehouse areas to support production requirements and load and unload customer trailers. Depending on the location and operational needs, you may also sort wooden pallets by hand and repair damaged pallets. The role is important to the success of the Relogistics site. The position is based in Methuen, Massachusetts, and pays $17.00 per hour. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work takes place in a labor-intensive warehouse environment that may involve exposure to heat, cold, outdoor elements, and airborne particulates. Personal protective equipment is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including exposure to elements, heat, cold, and airborne particulates.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths.
- Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
- May be required to lift pallets weighing 50 to 75 pounds by hand.
- Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift certification preferred.
- One to three years of forklift experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment.
- Operate forklifts carefully and follow company safety procedures at all times.
- Sort wooden pallets by hand when required.
- Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support warehouse production requirements and load and unload customer trailers.
