Requirements

• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Three years as a Forensic Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care, treatment, custody, and control of psychiatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Guide and evaluate nursing personnel to ensure responsible and effective patient care
• Review treatment interventions and support continuous improvement in nursing practices
• Assess care areas and correct unsafe conditions to maintain a therapeutic setting
• Promote staff development through coaching, orientation and mandatory learning programs
• Share important clinical and administrative information to keep teams aligned
• Apply hospital and forensic standards to enhance quality of patient services
