Registered Nurse Supervisor (2nd Shift) - Danville State Hospital
About The Position
This role gives you the chance to guide nursing teams and strengthen the care environment at Danville State Hospital. You will help staff grow their skills while ensuring patients receive safe and respectful treatment. Step into a leadership role where your actions lead to meaningful progress every day. This position oversees the planning, direction, and evaluation of nursing care to ensure safe and effective services for consumers. It plays a key role in maintaining a supportive environment for both staff and patients by guiding daily operations and promoting consistent communication.
Requirements
- Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
- Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Guide professional and nonprofessional nursing staff across multiple care areas
- Monitor treatment activities and support quality care based on nursing standards
- Provide training, orientation, and ongoing education to nursing personnel
- Communicate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to maintain continuity of care
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and respond to emergencies when needed
- Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and complete evaluations without delay
Benefits
- The 2nd shift receives $1.25 per hour shift differential.
