About The Position

Under the supervision of the Plant Leader, supervise the complete operation of the processing plant, pit operation and support areas including shipping and quality control. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision. The role involves overseeing the safe plant operation of production while optimizing availabilities and efficiencies to ensure that quality material is on stock and available for shipping when required. It also includes coordinating all phases of the operation, performing as a team builder, ensuring preventive maintenance and repairs are scheduled to minimize the impact on production, and ensuring that the pit operation and stripping plans are being accomplished safely, efficiently, and according to budget. The position requires utilizing equipment efficiencies with maximum utilization and availability, assisting with mine planning, quality issues, permitting, and general plant operation, entering production data and maintaining records, and performing task and hazard training as required. Additionally, the role involves conducting and documenting weekly safety meetings, performing MSHA inspection and reporting as needed, and exercising proper care and maintenance of company equipment. This position frequently requires working more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays. Additional assignments may be performed per supervisor’s direction.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of MSHA and DEP regulations and how they relate to the operation.
  • Working knowledge of accident reporting and investigation.
  • Working knowledge of DEP regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of basic personal computer operation.
  • Working knowledge of parts, supplies and the ordering process.
  • Working knowledge of shipping schedules, load out scheduling and scale house operation.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, costs and variances along with corresponding reports.
  • Ability to learn, follow and enforce GOH company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • MSHA ART/ NM/ ENM training.
  • CPR/ First Aid training.
  • Bearing, Gear Box, Welding, and Torch Training.
  • Crusher School training.
  • Screen Bearings training.
  • Rigging training.
  • Production and Efficiency Mobile Equipment Training.
  • Leadership training.
  • Computer Skills training.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Education beyond high school preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years aggregate experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work in a field environment with exposure to dust, inclement weather conditions, extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.
