About The Position

Prep Network is seeking a Showcase Director to plan and execute youth sports events. The director serves as the face of the events team and is responsible for delivering first-class tournaments and showcases while using the company’s tools, training, and resources to create an excellent experience for players and teams. The role involves event setup and operations, advance planning with headquarters, communication with event staff and partners, and handling changing situations during events. Directors can choose whether to work locally or travel and select which event weekends to work.

Requirements

• Be a current or past basketball coach with a strong passion for the game.
• Demonstrate strong organization and the ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities.
• Have experience running events or camps with 50–300 participants and a team of coaches.
• Demonstrate the ability to make decisions under pressure and solve problems on the fly.
• Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Have experience working with and managing groups of 10 or more people.
• Be proficient with Google Apps, including Google Docs and Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Carry out event setup, check-in, and the event run of show.
• Manage event staff and work closely with event coaching staff to ensure a positive experience for attendees.
• Collaborate with the headquarters event team to organize event details and preparation checklists.
• Communicate with facility contacts, check-in workers, coaches, and officials assignors.
• Adapt and solve problems arising during events, including situations outside the director’s control.
• Speak to groups of 50–300 players and parents and deliver a motivational message.
