About The Position

Cambridge Computer is hiring an Account Executive to develop enterprise accounts across South Carolina, including academia, research institutions, and Fortune 500 enterprises. The company combines technology consulting with independent technology brokerage, enabling employees to compare vendors and design customized, multi-vendor infrastructure solutions rather than sell a single proprietary stack. The role is described in the posting as a Senior Relationship Manager and serves as the commercial lead for client relationships. The position involves complex infrastructure engagements spanning storage, compute, networking, and software, with sales cycles commonly lasting 6–12 months and deal sizes ranging from more than $100,000 to several million dollars. The Account Executive builds and manages a pipeline, prospects for new business, develops existing accounts, and coordinates internal technical and business resources to deliver tailored solutions. Success requires resilience, ownership of the client relationship, and meticulous attention to CRM records, quotes, legal checks, and logistics. Compensation includes a target base salary of $85,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience, plus uncapped percentage-based commission. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, Medical/Dependent Care FSA options, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, tiered paid time off that increases with tenure, and long-term disability coverage. The company also provides access to its network of federal, state, local, and higher-education procurement contracts.

  • Strong written, verbal, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex financial and technical trade-offs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, field-based environment and navigate supply-chain fluctuations and multi-month sales cycles.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with respect for technical, operational, and legal colleagues.
  • Currently authorized, or soon to be authorized, to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
