Food Transporter/Delivery Driver
About The Position
The Food Transporter/Delivery Driver delivers food, supplies, and other products to units and service areas using a vehicle. The role involves picking up supplies and completed production orders, checking orders for completeness, loading and unloading deliveries, handling food and equipment safely, and maintaining the assigned vehicle. The driver works with coworkers and provides attentive customer service. The listed schedule is full time, Monday through Friday, with either an 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. shift. The position is located at Base Power, 205 E Riverside Drive, Austin, Texas.
Requirements
- Previous driving experience.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Valid food handler's permit where required.
- Operate company vehicles safely in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Pick up requisitioned supplies and completed production orders from the staging clerk.
- Inventory items to confirm production orders are complete.
- Load orders onto the truck safely and in an orderly manner, with assistance from staging clerks.
- Unload requisitioned materials at delivery sites.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment.
- Keep hot and cold food items compliant with company standards and sanitation and safety requirements.
- Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Maintain the general cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck.
- Coordinate with coworkers to meet company service standards.
- Provide quality customer service with one-on-one attention to detail.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
