FOOD TRANSPORTER/DELIVERY DRIVER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Food Transporter/Delivery Driver delivers food, supplies, and other products to units and service areas using a vehicle. The role is based at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. The driver collects requisitioned supplies and completed production orders from the staging clerk, checks orders for completeness, and loads and unloads materials safely. The position also involves maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, collecting empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise, keeping the assigned vehicle clean, and performing routine truck maintenance. The driver works with coworkers to support company service standards and provides attentive customer service. Training is available, and no experience is required. The schedule is full time and includes weekend availability.
Requirements
- Must have a valid state driver's license.
- Must have a valid food handler's permit where required.
- Must operate company vehicles safely in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Pick up requisitioned supplies from the staging clerk.
- Receive completed production orders from the staging clerk and inventory items to verify that orders are complete.
- Load orders onto the truck safely and orderly, with assistance from staging clerks.
- Unload requisitioned materials at delivery sites.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment.
- Keep hot and cold food items within company standards and meet sanitation and safety requirements.
- Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Maintain the general cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck.
- Interact with coworkers to ensure company service standards.
- Provide quality customer service through attentive, one-on-one service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
