FOOD TRANSPORTER/DELIVERY DRIVER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Canteen is hiring a full-time Food Transporter/Delivery Driver in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role delivers food, supplies, and other products to service units using a company vehicle. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. The advertised pay range is $17.00 to $18.50 per hour. Canteen driving roles may include commission eligibility. The driver collects staged supplies and completed production orders, checks orders for completeness, and loads and unloads items safely. The role also involves maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, keeping the assigned vehicle clean, performing routine truck maintenance, collecting empty containers and returned or unsold merchandise, and providing attentive customer service while coordinating with coworkers.
Requirements
- Must have a valid state driver's license.
- Must operate company vehicles safely in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
- Must have a valid food handler's permit where required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous food preparation and food safety experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Pick up requisitioned supplies from the staging clerk.
- Receive completed production orders and inventory items to confirm each order is complete.
- Load orders onto the truck safely and in an orderly manner, with assistance from staging clerks.
- Unload requisitioned materials at delivery sites.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment.
- Keep hot and cold food items in compliance with company standards and sanitation and safety requirements.
- Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Maintain the general cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck.
- Interact with coworkers to ensure company service standards.
- Provide quality customer service through one-on-one attention to detail.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
