Food Service Worker -- NUTRITION SERVICES -- Mon Medical Center Main Campus
About The Position
The Food Service Worker provides a positive experience for patients, customers, and the community through meal preparation, service, and cleanup. Duties may include simple food preparation, tray assembly, taking meal orders from patients, delivering patient trays to assigned rooms, cafeteria service, and dishwashing. The role operates in accordance with the department’s and hospital’s philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures. The employee is expected to communicate effectively, demonstrate compassion and customer focus, fulfill commitments dependably, maintain the skills and knowledge needed for the work, and follow safety practices without taking shortcuts that increase risk.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Food Handlers Card (required).
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service and/or food services experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, serve, and clean up meals.
- Perform simple food preparation and assemble meal trays.
- Take meal orders from patients.
- Deliver patient trays to assigned rooms.
- Provide cafeteria service and wash dishes.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, families, customers, and co-workers.
- Respond to customer needs in a timely and effective manner, anticipate potential delays, keep customers informed, and inquire about satisfaction.
- Fulfill commitments, meet reasonable deadlines, arrive ready to work, and accept responsibility for actions.
- Follow organizational safety practices and alert others to unsafe practices.
