FOOD SERVICE WORKER (ON CALL)
About The Position
The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Manton Consolidated Schools. This is an on-call position with a Monday-through-Friday schedule and variable hours. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required. The pay range is $13.73 to $15.00 per hour. Because the position serves an educational facility, work may not be required during periods such as winter and summer breaks, when food service needs decline or cease; such periods are unpaid and treated as temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Responsibilities
- Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and food trays between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner while following outlined service steps.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
- Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
