FOOD SERVICE WORKER (ON CALL)
About The Position
The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Pine-Richland School District in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. This is an on-call position with a Monday-through-Friday schedule and varying hours; further scheduling details are provided during the interview. The role requires prior customer service experience, and training is available. The pay range is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour. The position supports Chartwells K-12’s school dining program, which aims to serve food students enjoy while supporting their health. Work is performed in an educational facility. Food service needs may decline or cease during school breaks, in which case periods without assigned work are unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner while following outlined service steps.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
- Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
