About The Position

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at South Decatur Elementary School in Greensburg, Indiana. The position is scheduled for days that may vary, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed, following established recipes, production standards, service procedures, and food safety requirements. Prior food service experience is a plus, and the company is willing to train. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $14.00 per hour. The posting notes that school breaks may result in unpaid periods when work is not required; year-round work, possibly at a different location during breaks, may be required depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
