About The Position

Memorial Hospital Belleville is hiring a PRN (as-needed) Food Service Worker in its Food & Nutrition Department, which provides food and nutrition services to patients, staff, and visitors. The position may involve setting up food service areas, portioning and serving food, assembling patient trays, responding to customer requests, and, at some locations, preparing food. The listed shift is 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The role is non-benefits eligible.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and friendly customer service and follow food safety and portion guidelines.
• Assemble meals according to the menu, diet order, and correct protocol.
• Set up the work area and organize supplies and products before, during, and after the shift.
• Clean and sanitize the workstation and utensils.
• Use equipment and materials properly and safely.
• Perform food service tasks such as setting up service areas with food, utensils, and garnishes; portioning and serving food; operating a cash register; and assisting with customer requests.
• Perform food preparation at some locations.
