About The Position

Conference and Dining Services at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, is seeking dependable and motivated back-of-house kitchen staff on a part time basis to support catering operations in the newly renovated Spitzer Conference Center. The Food Service Specialist is responsible for assisting with food preparation, production, packaging, and kitchen organization to ensure high-quality service for catered events. Further duties include dishwashing, stocking, and runner. Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events, is required. Additionally, cross training will be provided to work with the LCCC Marketplace and Bistro team as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent in education
• 2-3 years experience in a commercial kitchen
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation
• Maintain a high degree of sanitation and personal hygiene
• Ability to take direction verbally or by work order

• Current ServSafe certification
• Knife skills
