About The Position

Conference and Dining Services at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused part-time servers and bartenders to support catering operations in the newly renovated Spitzer Conference Center. The Food Service Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional guest service during catered events, including event setup, food and beverage service, buffet and station attendance, and event breakdown. Additional duties, as needed, may include cashiering, dishwashing and some food preparation. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and special events, is required. Employees must have reliable transportation, maintain a high degree of sanitation and personal hygiene and must be able to take direction verbally or by work order. Job duties require the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent in education
• 2 - 3 years experience in a conference center or banquet facility
• Experience as a shift lead
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to take direction verbally or by work order
• Maintain a high degree of sanitation and personal hygiene

Nice To Haves

• Able to use a POS system
• Current ServSafe certification
