About The Position

The Food Service Associate helps run Huck’s Market’s food service area smoothly and effectively. The role follows company guidelines to support department profitability while providing quality food and customer service. The Associate helps keep the department ready for business during food service hours, maintains food and display areas, follows safety and sanitation procedures, and supports customers and other store associates. The listed duties are not exhaustive; management may revise the job description or assign other tasks as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to store operations.
• Control food preparation quantities to reduce waste while maintaining sufficient food for customers.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect.
• Advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Assist with training new associates on proper completion of their duties.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed.
• Help maintain a safe shopping and working environment and ensure safety rules and protective equipment requirements are followed.
• Ensure current plan-o-grams are used.
• Communicate special needs or requests to the Manager and alert the Manager about merchandise ordering needs to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain inventory levels as directed.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, assist customers with signup and use, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Maintain food service appearance according to company expectations and standards, keep display cases and glass clean, and report maintenance problems that cannot be corrected without assistance to the Store Manager.
• Keep food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures.
• Ensure ladders are used properly, lifting procedures are followed, and wet-floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and Corporate office.
