About The Position

The Food Service Associate provides customer service and supports daily food-service operations. The role involves setting up food-service and kitchen areas, preparing or assisting with hot and cold food, serving customer orders, maintaining food quality and safety, and cleaning work areas and equipment. The associate may also assist with deliveries, provide guidance and training to coworkers, and report equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management. Shifts vary according to store business needs; schedules are flexible and should be discussed with the manager.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service throughout each interaction.
• Set up food-service areas, kitchen and prep stations, and equipment for the business day.
• Prepare or assist in preparing hot and cold food items.
• Ensure utensils, napkins, and condiments are available to customers.
• Check food temperatures before serving and follow food-safety guidelines.
• Frequently check cold-case temperatures.
• Inspect products for quality and expiration labels, removing items from the selling floor as needed.
• Take orders and serve food according to customers’ specific requests.
• Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment.
• Collect garbage and compost and place them in designated containers.
• Provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work, as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management immediately.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and putting loads away in an orderly manner.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
