Food Service Associate
About The Position
The Food Service Associate provides customer service and supports food preparation and daily operations in the food service department at Maplefields in Littleton South, Littleton, New Hampshire. The role includes setting up kitchen and prep stations, preparing or assisting with hot and cold food, serving customer orders, monitoring food and cold-case temperatures, checking product quality, and maintaining clean work areas and equipment. The position may also involve training or guiding coworkers, receiving and stocking deliveries, and reporting equipment or safety concerns to management. Shifts vary according to store business needs; schedules are flexible and should be discussed with the manager.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they approach the department and provide excellent service throughout each interaction.
- Set up food service, kitchen, prep stations, and equipment for the business day.
- Prepare or assist in preparing hot and cold food items.
- Ensure utensils, napkins, and condiments are available to customers.
- Check food temperatures before serving and follow food safety guidelines.
- Check cold-case temperatures frequently.
- Inspect products for quality and outdated labels and remove items from the selling floor as needed.
- Take orders and serve food according to customers’ specific requests.
- Clean, wash, and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment.
- Place garbage and compost in designated containers.
- Provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work, as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management immediately.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and putting loads away in an orderly manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
