About The Position

The Food Server takes and delivers customer orders, maintains tables and guest satisfaction, and finalizes checks. The role also involves performing side work and general cleaning of assigned stations. This is an hourly, full-time position at Gold Strike Casino.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of Food and Beverage experience in a high-paced environment.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of menu items, including wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, and beverage machines.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, in written and verbal forms.
• Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with business contacts.
• Ability to stand, walk, run, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
• Use selling techniques and deliver service for menu items across all courses, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain table cleanliness using a silent service approach.
• Itemize bills correctly and secure payment efficiently.
• Maintain the cleanliness and stock of assigned areas, side stations, tables, and Point of Sale (POS) stations.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Communicate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address issues or needs requested by guests or employees.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
