About The Position

The Sportsbar Server takes food and drink orders, communicates with the bartender, assists with drink preparation, and presents drinks to guests. The role provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive service to restaurant guests and staff, including greeting guests, engaging in friendly conversation, and using guests’ names to provide personalized service.

The server operates a cash register or POS system, processes payments and change, accounts for cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures, and maintains financial controls. The position also involves keeping the work area and dining room clean and organized, recognizing players and sharing that information with restaurant colleagues so they receive appropriate service, promoting property events and promotions, monitoring alcohol consumption and intervening according to guidelines, and thanking guests and inviting them back.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to count money and make change correctly.
• Availability to work the required schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

• Prior serving experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register or POS system, ring up the proper amount, and provide correct change.
• Account for cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures and maintain financial controls.
• Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
• Engage guests in friendly conversation, greet each guest entering the restaurant, and provide personalized service using guests’ names.
• Keep the designated work area clean and organized and help maintain the cleanliness of the dining room, including the host stand, in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Recognize players and relay that information to the host/hostess or other restaurant team members to ensure appropriate service.
• Know and promote current property events and promotions.
• Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
• Thank customers, invite them back, and wish them luck.
