About The Position

The Sportsbar Cashier/Host greets and escorts guests to their tables, provides menus and information about specials, and processes restaurant payments using a computerized cash register. The role maintains an accurate bank and helps coordinate restaurant service to provide guests with fast and courteous assistance. It also involves monitoring cleanliness and safety and health code compliance, resolving or referring customer complaints, and maintaining shift records.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods during a shift.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and escort them to their tables.
• Provide menus and inform guests of specials.
• Circulate through the restaurant and coordinate service personnel to provide fast and courteous customer service.
• Assign breaks for bus persons and food servers.
• Inspect and monitor room cleanliness and compliance with safety and health code regulations.
• Resolve customer complaints or refer them to the restaurant manager.
• Maintain records of the number of guests served during the shift, employee absences, and food-service equipment problems.
• Operate a computerized cash register to itemize and process guest checks according to established procedures.
• Maintain an accurate bank at all times.
