About the position
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing food safety regulations, policies, and procedures. They will play a key role in implementing and enforcing security and food safety standards, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements. The manager will also be involved in training programs, inspections, and the development and maintenance of documentation related to food safety. This role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a controlled environment agriculture company.
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide training for food safety and quality requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP's, manuals, policies, and procedures related to food safety concerns
- Conduct facility food safety audits and manage third-party audits
- Monitor and verify activities to ensure products meet food safety and quality standards
- Maintain and manage the food safety security plan
- Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to comply with changing requirements
- Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers for compliance
- Work closely with the Production Manager on food safety and quality assurance.

- Bachelors' Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, or another related field
- Minimum of five years of food manufacturing experience
- Minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of Federal and State Food regulations
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements
- Experience in HACCP, USDA, or FDA
- Experience with SQF, Primus, BRC, and/or USDA audits
- The working environment is subject to pressure for multiple calls, inquiries, and interruptions
