About the position
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas in the food processing facilities. They handle and prepare cleaning chemicals, ensure the proper storage and handling of chemicals, and manage chemical accidents. The technician promotes health and safety in the workplace, maintains an efficient and hygienic working environment, and follows standard operating procedures and inspection regulations. They must have good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization skills, and be able to work independently in a wet environment. A high school diploma or GED certificate is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas in the food processing facilities
- Handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and chemical concentrations
- Managing chemical accidents
- Reading chemical labels or Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to learn how to properly handle chemicals
- Creating and maintaining an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment
- Promoting health and safety in the workplace
- Displaying good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization
- Understanding the Standard Operating Procedures and Inspection Regulations
- Ensuring quality control and efficient workflow
- Displaying positive leadership
- Documenting and verifying activities supporting Local Bounti's Food Safety & Quality Assurance Programs
