About The Position

Rita's on the River is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Runners to join our team! As a Food Runner, you will be part of the experience at Rita’s! By delivering timely food and beverage options with exceptional service along the way, you'll ensure every guest has an efficient dining experience in our lively, Tex-Mex restaurant located on the beautiful River Walk.

Requirements

• Applicants for this role must be at minimum 18 years old.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Specifically, Monday through Saturday (Rita's is closed on Sundays).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Maintains a positive attitude, teamwork mentality, strong communication, and professional customer service skills.
• Food Handler's Certification
• Texas Alcohol & Beverage Commission Certification
• Ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous casual dining experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Tex-Mex cuisine and drinks is a plus though.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests quickly, accurately, and professionally.
• Confirm food items match the order before leaving the kitchen or expo area.
• Communicate with servers, kitchen team members, and managers to support smooth service.
• Assist with table needs such as sauces, utensils, napkins, refills, or other guest requests as appropriate.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization in expo, service, and dining areas.
• Support timely service during busy periods by working with urgency and attention to detail.
• Assist with restocking service items, cleaning, and supporting the team as needed throughout the shift.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.
• Follow all health and safety standards, as well as company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations, guest service, and overall team success.
