About The Position

Laurel Oak Country Club is hiring Food Runners for its Food & Beverage team in Sarasota, Florida. Food Runners deliver food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to dining areas and serve as liaisons between kitchen staff, wait staff, and members or guests. The role includes checking orders and presentation, maintaining food quality, supporting smooth service, and helping provide an excellent dining experience. The position is hourly and non-exempt, with part-time opportunities available. Work hours are according to shift assignments. Work is primarily indoors, with some outdoor exposure.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues.
Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, visually monitor operating areas, and read and write member communications.
Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 40 pounds; lifting up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly.
Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, stand, push, lift, and grasp for up to five hours without sitting.
Ability to consistently lift, carry, and load equipment weighing 30 or more pounds and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.

Responsibilities

Match order tickets with prepared food items and sides from the kitchen line.
Check plate presentation for neatness and ensure all ordered items are included.
Monitor food quality and return substandard items to the kitchen.
Serve beverages and prepared meals accurately and promptly.
Communicate with service staff about orders that have been delivered or returned.
Keep orders in sequence to support an efficient service process.
Keep workstations stocked with items and ingredients.
Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Provide prompt and efficient customer service.
Check back with guests to confirm satisfaction and replenish items as needed or requested.
Keep tables, dining rooms, and workstations sanitized and organized.
Listen and respond to customer complaints.
Perform cleanup and closing procedures as assigned by the manager.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
