About The Position

Gordon Food Service Store, the retail division of Gordon Food Service, is hiring a full-time Food Production Associate at its Fort Wayne, Indiana store. The role supports food preparation and customer service in a retail environment, with opportunities to learn and advance. The position may also assist in other store areas during slower periods.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. The store is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age; operating the meat slicer requires being at least 18.
• Able to provide superior customer service.
• Able to multitask.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sliced meats and cheeses, sandwiches, and wraps.
• Prepare ingredients for beverages and juice customers' orders.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with stocking, cashiering, or other food production areas during down times.
• Use a rotisserie oven to cook food up to three times per day.
• Use a broaster to cook chicken tenders, chicken wings, other chicken items, fish, and potato wedges as needed.
• Take temperatures of cooked and cold foods.
• Change oil in broasters.
• Provide superior customer service.
