About The Position

The Food Preparer is responsible for collecting, delivering, and restocking assigned floor pantries at Mount Sinai Hospital. The role records the goods and quantities delivered to each pantry and obtains the authorizing floor attendant’s signature on dated requisition forms before submitting them to the main office. Some employees may also work on the tray line, completing assigned tasks before and after line assignments. The position transports food trucks and/or food items to patient floors in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–1 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Pick up assigned order sheets for the day.
• Collect necessary items from the storeroom.
• Deliver specific items to assigned pantries and record the items and quantities already on hand and those added to pantries and refrigerators.
• Keep areas clean and notify the floor attendant of refrigerator temperature or other issues.
• Obtain the authorizing floor attendant’s confirmation and signature on dated requisition forms.
• Transport food trucks and/or food items to patient floors in a timely manner.
• Perform assigned tray-line tasks before and after line assignments, when applicable.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
