About The Position
The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking dynamic leaders passionate about journalism and democracy to help shape the future of this innovative modern media organization. This 10-week summer reporting internship offers talented, driven college juniors, seniors, and graduate students the opportunity to write enterprise stories and daily news, focusing on arts & entertainment and restaurants & food. The program aims to provide interns with invaluable experience from a major-market newsroom, developing their skills and polish. Requirements
- Currently a college junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Highly proficient writers.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Flexibility and ability to handle deadline pressure.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with web research tools.
- Proficiency with InCopy or similar publishing software.
Responsibilities
- Develop their own story ideas and pursue assigned stories.
- Work closely with editors, photographers, and other reporters to produce substantive news stories.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Work regularly from the Star Tribune office.
