Food Cashier - Macys Cafe, Dadeland - Part Time
About The Position
The Food Sales Associate's primary responsibility is to sell food items by providing caring hospitality and service using product knowledge and sampling. The role follows Food Division standards and best practices, provides food and beverage service, prepares and presents products to company and Health Department standards, and supports customer needs in the café. This is a part-time position at Macy's Cafe in Dadeland. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week; schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- No education or experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform the listed physical requirements.
- Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
Responsibilities
- Follow Food Division standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the menu.
- Follow food safety standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow area-specific steps of service and deliver food and beverages in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate MAGIC selling skills.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food products.
- Produce and present freshly prepared products according to company and Health Department standards by following recipes or build sheets.
- Effectively serve multiple customers and communicate customer requests or concerns to other associates and the manager on duty.
- Open and close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the manager on duty before leaving.
- Follow production guides and maintain stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company and Health Department standards.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and supports authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Perform other duties as needed.
