CAFE CASHIER (PART-TIME)
About The Position
The Cafe Cashier performs cashier functions and cooking duties while maintaining a high level of customer service. The role includes greeting customers and coworkers, completing sales transactions accurately, maintaining daily cash accountability, and communicating customer service issues and requests to management. The employee may also perform other duties as directed by management. Work includes handling cash, checks, and credit cards; counting and balancing the till at the beginning and end of each shift; keeping the store neat and clean; stocking inventory; operating an espresso machine; and preparing food according to sanitation requirements, recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications. The employee also sets up stations and assists with cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas. The work takes place indoors in a climate-controlled environment. The position requires standing for long periods, multitasking, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers, and physical activities including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pulling, talking, and listening. Lifting up to 20 pounds on a daily basis is required. Pay is $16.90 to $23.37.

Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge customers and coworkers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain daily cash accountability.
- Handle cash, checks, and credit cards.
- Count the till at the beginning and end of each shift, verify transactions, and ensure the till balances.
- Communicate customer service issues and requests to management.
- Keep the store neat and clean.
- Stock inventory, including groceries and fountain and coffee areas.
- Operate the espresso machine according to rules and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Set up stations according to restaurant guidelines.
- Prepare food items sanitarily and on time, following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the manager.
- Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
