About The Position

The Food and Nutrition Associate maintains the dishroom, janitor closet, and patient food carts in an organized and sanitary manner. The role delivers food carts to patient floors, distributes patient trays, and returns carts to the dishroom. It also tends and loads the dish machine and performs department janitorial duties. The associate supports food service operations by handling dirty and clean dishes, monitoring dish machine temperatures, working an assigned trayline position, and assisting with cleaning and recycling tasks. The position requires strict compliance with safety protocols and procedures, including HCA’s “Patients First” safety initiative. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Food Handlers Permit required within 7 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect and break down patient dirty food carts.
Monitor and record dish machine wash and rinse temperatures, and take appropriate action as needed.
Tend and load the dish machine with patient, cafeteria, and catering dishes.
Assist with storing clean dishes.
Maintain the dishroom, janitor closet, and patient food carts in an organized, sanitary manner.
Work an assigned position on the trayline.
Deliver and distribute patient trays.
Deposit garbage into the trash compactor.
Assist with cleaning the kitchen, storeroom, walk-in, and freezer floors.
Assist with recycling empty boxes and cans.
Perform special cleaning assignments.
Comply strictly with safety protocols and procedures, including HCA’s “Patients First” safety initiative.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
