About The Position

Bar Luna, located on Miracle Hill inside Azure Palm Hot Springs, is now accepting applications for Food and Beverage Manager. Bar Luna is our newest addition to our Resort and we are looking for an experienced F & B manager to turn this into an unforgettable experience for our guests. The Food and Beverage Manager is a hands-on position that will work to develop, establish, and maintain front and back of the house operations for Bar Luna’s event and catering venue, our poolside service as well as overseeing and assisting our Cafe manager of our popular Azure Palm Cafe. The position would also take charge of developing and overseeing our new Friday and Saturday night music and small plate event. The ideal candidate will be committed to building a strong reputation for Bar Luna in all aspects of the operation. Candidates that succeed in this role are individuals who demonstrate a love for autonomy, rapidly changing environments, and teamwork. They are creative, trendy, charismatic, knowledgeable, and exceptionally well-versed in Food and beverage management. They aren’t afraid to think outside of the box!

Requirements

At least 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage management, preferably in luxury hotels or resort settings.
Strong experience with food and beverage operations, catering, and special events management.
Must have advanced computer skills; including working with the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Aisle Planner, Salesforce, Google Drive/Sheets, etc.
Must possess and maintain valid California Food Handler Certificate
Must possess and maintain a current ABC-approved California Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate.
Must possess and maintain current California Driver License with satisfactory driving record
Must be able to pass a background check.
Strong presentation skills to represent the property professionally and successfully.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and relationships with clients
Excellent organizational, time management, planning, and follow-up skills.
Superior verbal communication and written skills required with problem solving skills and deductive reasoning abilities
Maintain a neat and professional appearance including adherence to department dress code
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and manage budgets, costs, and revenues.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Deep understanding of food and beverage trends, industry standards, and best practices.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with food and beverage management software (POS systems, inventory software, etc.).
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when necessary.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.

Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets (including overseeing Cafe Manager and poolside service) and events at Azure Palm Hot Springs. This role will expand when the new kitchen is completed, and we add a fine dining experience.
Develop and implement effective operational procedures to maximize efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Monitor food and beverage costs, labor, and inventory, ensuring financial targets are met.
Lead, mentor, and develop our food and beverage management team.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Develop and execute training programs for staff to maintain high service standards and promote career growth.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff, addressing any performance or behavioral issues as needed.
Maintain a strong presence in food and beverage outlets, interacting with guests to ensure high levels of satisfaction and resolve any concerns promptly.
Oversee the execution of events to meet guest needs.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences, from arrival to departure.
Prepare and manage annual food and beverage budgets, ensuring profitability while maintaining quality service.
Analyze financial performance reports and take corrective actions to improve results.
Oversee inventory control and ordering to minimize waste and maximize cost efficiency.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menus that align with the brand’s vision, local trends, and guest preferences.
Continuously evaluate and update beverage offerings to ensure a diverse and high-quality selection.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to maintain consistency.
Work with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies for food and beverage offerings, increasing visibility, and guest engagement.
Build relationships with vendors, local businesses, and the community.
Hire, train, schedule and manage staff responsible for event execution including banquet servers, bartenders, and custodial staff
Maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness in all areas of the property (including front entrance, FOH, BOH and poolside service)
Communicate in any areas of need, problems, and concerns to the management team.
Complete all assigned projects on time, with clear communication regarding deadlines and workload.

Assist the Marketing department with designing and developing engaging graphic designs for print and electronic collateral, website, and social media content that are aligned with our brand for marketing campaigns and efforts.
Take photos and videos for marketing content as needed
Possessing the ability to collaborate with others in a positive team environment is essential
