About The Position

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the primary restaurant outlet in the Emily Hotel. This role oversees and maintains a service and supervisor philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff. The Manager works closely with the Restaurant General Manager and Director of Hotel Operations to monitor the effectiveness of the services and products offered in the restaurant and adjust accordingly to ensure maximum profitability. This position is also responsible for providing lateral service to other Food and Beverage operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Education in hospitality management, culinary arts, business administration or similar required.
  • If applicable, must meet required minimum age to serve alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled.
  • Run shifts and assist with leading operations in Fora, Coffee Bar, Rooftop Cinema, and Events.
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Review daily sales and resolve discrepancies with accounting.
  • Participate in the preparation of weekly schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts and adjust schedules throughout the week to meet business demands.
  • Assign work and side duties to staff in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate with additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff and review all information pertinent to the day’s business.
  • Ensure the F&B areas consistently delivers an elevated and positive experience for our guests and teammates.
  • Monitor the preparation of station assignments, ensuring compliance to departmental standards.
  • Model and promote teamwork across all departments.
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  • Inspect all aspects of the restaurant environment, ensuring compliance with standards of cleanliness and order. Rectify all deficiencies.
  • Ensure all employees are fully trained in their job functions, assist with onboarding new staff.
  • Review par levels of supplies and equipment. Complete requisitions to replenish.
  • Ensure that specified amounts of menus and wine lists are available and in good condition for each meal period.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and promote positive guest relations through name recognition at all times.
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to guest and employee feedback.
  • Ensure that all staff opening and closing duties are complete before staff sign out.
  • Update the POS system with changes to menu.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact engineering for urgent repairs via work order system/software.
  • Do monthly inventories of liquor, beer, and wine while utilizing the inventory software and systems.
  • Prepare and submit daily payroll tips and review hours worked for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Maintain local health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and respond back to all OpenTable and Google reviews.
