About The Position

The Flow Inventory Associate helps maintain CarMax’s vehicle inventory and customer experience in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The role handles vehicle receiving and shipping, lot maintenance, merchandising, and photo uploads, ensuring vehicles meet CarMax’s quality standards. Associates follow inventory processes, prepare vehicles and transfer documentation, and support vehicle movement for repairs, storage, and auctions.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet CarMax driving standards.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately transcribe data for inventory records.
• Completion of Inventory Associate workstation certifications and assigned trainings.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory by following CarMax inventory processes.
• Receive and secure vehicles shipped to CarMax and prepare title packets for transfers.
• Perform lot maintenance and merchandising, ensuring display areas are clean and organized.
• Prepare vehicles for customer returns and loaners, including washing and vacuuming.
• Execute the photo station process for carmax.com listings.
• Drive vehicles on and off the lot for repairs, storage, and auction support.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Benefits

• Up to 48 hours of sick time per year, accrued per pay period.
• Between 80 and 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Eight hours of pay for each of six scheduled paid holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay for eligible associates who work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
