About The Position

As a Flow Inventory Associate, you’ll help maintain CarMax’s vehicle inventory and customer experience in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The role includes receiving and shipping vehicles, maintaining and merchandising the lot, and uploading vehicle photos, while ensuring vehicles meet CarMax’s quality standards. The position supports accurate inventory records and the transparency and trust CarMax aims to deliver to customers.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet CarMax driving standards.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately transcribe data for inventory records.
• Completion of Inventory Associate workstation certifications and assigned trainings.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory by following CarMax inventory processes.
• Receive and secure vehicles shipped to CarMax and prepare title packets for transfers.
• Perform lot maintenance and merchandising, keeping display areas clean and organized.
• Prepare vehicles for customer returns and loaners, including washing and vacuuming.
• Complete the photo station process for carmax.com listings.
• Drive vehicles on and off the lot for repairs, storage, and auction support.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible associates can accrue up to 48 hours per year.
• Paid vacation time: full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates receive 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Paid holidays: eligible associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of 6 scheduled holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay for eligible associates who work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away, with no specified limit, for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
