About The Position

A Sales Rep is responsible for stocking and selling products to new and existing retail customers and ordering assigned products to maximize sales. The role involves merchandising, facing, and selling products while working under immediate supervision and following detailed verbal and written instructions. It requires applying and developing basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the department, as well as some specific product knowledge. The position supports the Floral department by providing customer service, maintaining the sales floor and back area, receiving and checking products, keeping displays and shelf information in order, and helping meet standards for freshness, safety, sanitation, shrink, and inventory control. Employees may also be asked to perform other job-related tasks based on business needs, subject to reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

Typically requires 0–2 years of experience.
Strong customer service skills.
Passion for food.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Must be able to manage more than 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
Materials handling equipment certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment used is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation is essential.

Responsibilities

Provide good customer service.
Organize, clean, and prepare the back area for incoming deliveries.
Keep the sales floor uncluttered and free from spills.
Stock and rotate items as needed.
Reset products and maintain shelf conditions, including the integrity of shelf tags and department signage.
Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged products to ensure freshness and quality.
Meet federal, state, and company standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
Order assigned products to maximize sales.
