About The Position

The Floral Manager is a primary customer contact who provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The role is accountable for the floral department’s results, including customer service, sales growth, profitability, and cost control. The manager oversees staffing and daily department operations, follows merchandising guidance, designs floral arrangements, manages inventory and orders, and maintains department displays and cleanliness. The work is performed mostly indoors, with some outdoor work; temperature conditions vary by store location. The position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
Demonstrated customer service skills or related experience.
Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Previous experience or training as a floral clerk or designer.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with company procedures and policies.
Train, schedule, and supervise floral clerks to maintain appropriate staffing.
Prepare the Floral Department schedule for Store Director approval.
Implement the merchandising plan according to Division guidelines.
Resolve customer concerns related to sales, service, or floral-area operations.
Design floral arrangements for display or customer requests.
Manage inventory according to company policies and practices to support sales and profits.
Conduct daily inventory and order supplies as needed.
Prepare and enter floral department orders into the computer.
Stock and maintain floral displays, removing expired items from shelves daily.
Operate a helium tank to inflate balloons.
Water plants using sprayers and containers.
Maintain cleanliness of the floral area.
Operate the cash register.
Check inter-office mail and the company web page daily for updated information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
