Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency degree.

Responsibilities

Keep the produce department, floral area, storage area, and work area clean and safe, including cleaning shelves and products, removing hazardous debris, and addressing spills.
Stock produce and floral products; present, rotate, face, fill, and organize products according to department schematics and maintain accurate tags and pricing.
Respond positively to customer inquiries and assist with purchases, information, and product selection, including selling and cross-selling products.
Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
Monitor point-of-purchase signage and maintain recipe cards, coupons, promotional materials, and information about complementary foods.
Operate equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including managing back stock and checking that tags match products.
Participate in and run the cut fruit and vegetable program.
Take responsibility for department sales and profitability.
Maintain product knowledge and knowledge of product preparation.
Walk the department regularly to maintain an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
