About The Position

The Environmental Services Floor Technician maintains a high level of cleanliness in the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities without assistance. The technician also provides customer service and maintains respectful relationships consistent with the organization’s principles. The role includes routine floor cleaning; mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, and applying floor sealers and finishes; vacuuming traffic areas and visible carpet debris; spot-cleaning carpets using extraction and bonneting; dust-mopping hard floors and preventing buildup in corners; and polishing floors to restore a uniform, high-gloss appearance. The technician keeps equipment clean and operational, secures work areas with safety signs, reports hazards, locks or unlocks doors and windows as needed, and turns off lights in unoccupied rooms. Work may be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts.
